BSA Schicks
From Epiverse
The BSA Schicks (model LP1 & LP2) is a Submachine gun designed and manufactured by British Surplus Arms. It is based rather heavily on the old WWII Sten gun, with internal workings being nearly identical though the parts are redesigned to use modern materials. The external look sports the same spartan design ethic, though it allows for some level of customization through the use of a simple dove-tail top rail and weaver-style rail mount on the underside. LP1 variants are easily field-stripped by a break-open hinge that allows easy access to the internals for servicing.
The LP1 and LP2 both fire the classic 9x19mm Luger Parabellum cartridge, due to its incredibly wide availability around the world. Because of the cheap manufacturing cost and simple construction the Schicks is often used not just by the British Army but also by many less well-equipped militia, police, guerilla, insurgent, and rebel forces.
Variants
- LP1 - Considered one of the de facto standards in light, compact submachine gun design. The weapon is mostly made out of lightweight metal with several parts simply stamped out of sheetmetal.
- LP2 - Manufactured with higher quality parts and more comfortable synthetic furniture. It is usually issued to special forces and paratroop forces as a light and compact SMG that, unlike the LP1, is more easily customized to fit the users needs. It is also able to (and usually does) utilize an integrated suppressor. Unlike the LP1, the LP2 does not use a break-open hinge to break down the weapon for cleaning, rather using a more tightly fitting set of bolts.
