The BSA Sess (officially Land Service Rifle 80) is a bullpup assault rifle designed and manufactured by British Surplus Arms. It is based on the SA80/L85 family, and usually uses the same SUSAT optics unit, though the ironsights it uses are different. Unique to the Sess is the "stepped" gas tube; intended to allow for an oversized heatsink to surround the barrel, as it was originally supposed to fire a caseless version of the 6.91mm round.

Initial research and development of the Sess was part of a program initiated by the ADA to produce a service rifle for ISS guardsmen. Despite its lineage lying in the infamous SA80/L85, it overcame nearly all of the shortcomings of the older rifle. In light of this, it was placed in high regard and eventually won the contest, becoming the service rifle of the ADA and British Army. The LR80 is comparatively light, well balanced, and much more reliable than its ancestor. It has excellent heat management, which lead to it's being used in several applications as a squad automatic weapon. Alongside the comparatively huge and unwieldy but powerful BSA Spike, it afforded a lightweight machine gun option to the ADA throughout it's service.
