The M1 was a generic copy of classic Winchester lever action rifles. Though marketed as a civilian rifle, it saw extensive use by the ADA Tunnelers as a reliable defensive weapon.

The M2 was also a lever action rifle based on KCA's Winchester Subdivision. The main difference between the M2 and the M1 is the replacement of the usual tubular magazine with the large drum, which became something of a standard for the NWI. Using the classic .30-06 cartridge with steel-tipped AP rounds, the M2 packed a heavy punch. However, due to the slow nature of the lever action it was not used much by the NWI military, and actually saw more preference among the Tunnelers.

The M4 was essentially just another clone of the AR-15 family. Not to be confused with the Colt M4 Carbine.

The M5 was to the M4 as the M2 was to the M1; that is to say, a further modernization of a clone-rifle, with the addition of a standard NWI military drum magazine. The M5 was the standard rifle of the NWI throughout the Third War and saw use in almost every other military.

The M12 was another civilian rifle, based somewhat on the old US M14 and British SMLE. The short variant, M12S, is more common than the standard length rifle, being exceptionally lightweight and easy to pack around and maneuver in close quarters. The M12S saw the most action in the hands of Statesmen militia forces, but was also another of the rifles adopted by the Tunnelers.
