Tempered Armor-Volatile Munitions, or TAVM rounds, are layered slugs fired as caseless ammunition that require a tempurature control unit within the weapon magazine in order to function correctly. There are two primary versions of such rounds, "hot" and "cold". These two munitions are so called because of the tempuratures needed to keep them operational.
"Cold" rounds utilize a small amount of Caesium-137 encased in a solid nitrogen inner shell, wrapped by a titanium outer shell designed to puncture the target and spread the payload inside.
"Hot" rounds contain a high-pressure canister filled with plasma designed to shatter on the target's surface and burn a clean hole through.
